Welcome to Turin: The Heart of Innovation and Culture

The 2025 edition of the International School on Water Reuse will take place in the beautiful city of Turin, Italy, from September 15th to 17th, 2025. Known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and thriving innovation ecosystem, Turin is the perfect setting for an inspiring academic and professional gathering.

Location

The summer school will be hosted at the Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Turin, located at Via Nizza 52, 10126 Turin. The venue offers modern facilities, high-tech meeting spaces, and easy accessibility to public transport and key attractions.

How to Get Here

By Air: Turin is served by Turin-Caselle Airport (TRN), located about 16 km from the city center. The airport offers international connections and direct flights to major European cities.

  • Train: Direct rail service to Porta Susa station in 19 minutes.
  • Bus: SADEM shuttle service (approx. 45 minutes).
  • Taxi or Rideshare: About 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

For attendees arriving from outside Europe, Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) is another option, with convenient train and bus connections to Turin in approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

By Train: Turin is a major railway hub with two main stations:

  • Torino Porta Nuova.
  • Torino Porta Susa (high-speed trains from Milan, France, and other European destinations).

By Public Transport to the Venue:

  • Metro: The venue is just a few steps from Marconi Metro Station on Line 1.
  • Bus and Tram: Several bus lines, including Bus 18, 24, 67, as well as the Tram 4, stop close to the Faculty of Biotechnology.
  • Walking: If arriving at Porta Nuova Station, the venue is a 10-15 minute walk down Via Nizza.
  • Taxi or Ride-Sharing: A short taxi ride from Porta Nuova or Porta Susa takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

Accommodation

Turin offers a range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly hostels to upscale hotels. Recommended areas to stay include:

  • City Center: Walking distance from the venue, rich in historical sites and restaurants.
  • San Salvario: A lively neighborhood near Porta Nuova with diverse dining and nightlife.
  • Lingotto: A quieter area with business hotels and easy metro access.
